The government of Taiwan today donated US$200,000 to Honduras to assist with emergency relief efforts related to the massive flooding throughout the country. Taiwan's Ambassador to Honduras Joseph Kuo presented a check to President Porfirio Lobo and expressed his regrets for the loss of human life and materials due to the heavy rains over the past 10 days. "On various occasions, Taiwán has been a victim of natural disasters, and so we physically feel the anguish, sorrow, and uncertainty felt by those concerned for their loved ones and their communities," said Ambassador Kuo. "Taiwan offers prayers to relieve the suffering, for comfort, and for protection to its brother nation of Honduras, all along wishing a speedy recovery to the catracho people in the face of the current emergency."
